  2. Thanks for this post.

Haven't seen talk of 'affirmations' like this for a while - it's something that I gave up long ago and only recently came back to accidentally.

I took to playing an inspirational video speech on my iphone throughout the day as I worked - sometimes as I walk I've begun mouthing the words because I believe in them so firmly.

So I think repeating 3-5 times isn't enough - it should be throughout your day if possible.

I've found this amusing to a point - because when topics related to my inspirational speech come up I find myself coming out with 'word for word' copies of the speeches naturally. This is unconscious - e.g. an argument situation where you are in a more 'reacting' vs. taking in a controlled state.

    Worth experimenting with.

I usually tend to get a lot out of your posts, but in this case, i don't agree at all. I've found that if you want to change your mind, what've worked (for me) is to identify what i want to change, and start working in REAL LIFE, getting real experience in trying to twist my thinking. No amount of "affirmations" work because i'm lying to myself
